Job summary
As a Manager, Real Estate Documentation and Closing within Real Estate – Documentation and Closing , you will lead a high-performing operational team supporting commercial real estate loan documentation and closing activities, with accountability for quality, throughput, and risk management. You will oversee daily production, manage work intake and prioritization, and ensure accurate, timely delivery aligned to service level and control expectations. You will identify risks and bottlenecks early, escalate with clear options, and drive improvements that strengthen controls and reduce rework. You will help build a strong team culture focused on ownership, precision, and continuous learning.
Job responsibilities

Lead daily production execution by allocating work, monitoring throughput, and preventing backlogs and service level breaches

Perform end-of-day controls to confirm requests are assigned, actioned, and completed within required timelines

Identify risks, bottlenecks, and control gaps; escalate proactively with proposed actions and expected impacts

Drive process governance and continuous improvement by recommending procedure enhancements informed by production trends

Ensure process updates are communicated accurately and maintain current procedure documentation for the team
-
Oversee operational support for loan closing and collateral readiness, including tracking required documentation through to completion
-
Partner with internal stakeholders and third parties to ensure documentation is received, tracked, and imaged in accordance with policy

Resolve documentation exceptions required to satisfy collateral requirements for closed loans
-
Oversee quality control across key regulatory and compliance-related request types (for example, flood and appraisal-related reviews)

Maintain strong stakeholder management and clear status reporting to support deadlines and execution quality
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Demonstrated people leadership experience in an operational, deadline-driven environment
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain issues and solutions clearly

Proven ability to manage competing priorities, multitask effectively, and deliver under time-sensitive deadlines
-
Strong attention to detail with an analytical, risk-aware mindset
-
Ability to identify control gaps and propose practical, measurable remediation actions
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new systems quickly
-
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team
-
Demonstrated ownership mindset and ability to drive work to completion
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
-
Experience supporting commercial real estate lending operations (documentation, closing, or collateral processes)
-
Experience reviewing legal or lending documentation (for example, loan agreements, promissory notes, mortgages)
-
Experience partnering with external vendors, law firms, and third parties
-
Prior experience leading or supporting quality control activities within an operations function
-
Experience driving process improvements using production trends, root cause analysis, and control feedback
