Full job description

Job Summary: Under the guidance and supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI), the Oncology Research Nurse is responsible for the management of oncology clinical trials, ensuring trials are conducted in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, Institutional Review Board (IRB) approvals, and CaroMont policies. Required to cross-train in other department areas and provide back-up as needed. Maintain confidentiality, HIPAA compliance and ensure protection of participants enrolled in clinical trials. Ensure that scientific integrity is maintained through data reliability and strict adherence to regulatory mandates. Act as alternate for COC and NAPBC certification meetings. Attend Tumor Board, Breast Conference, Breast Clinic, and Southeast Clinical Oncology Research Consortium (SCOR) meetings and trainings. Other duties in support of Research Administration as assigned.

Qualifications: Current RN license to practice in NC (NC license or multi-state compact license). A minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience required, preferably oncology experience. BSN preferred. Research experience strongly preferred. BLS required;. OCN Certification and/or ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy course certification preferred. Research certification preferred, or required within (3) years of employment (e.g. SoCRA or ACRP). Strong verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking skills, computer skills (Word, Excel), , organizational skills and problem-solving skills required. Ability to work autonomously and in teams as required. Flexible work hours related to various project needs may be required. Periodic travel required (<5%).
