Job Description

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and overall condition of multiple facilities across the Dallas area. This individual will perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks involving building systems, equipment, and common spaces, including basic plumbing, electrical work, HVAC troubleshooting, carpentry, drywall repair, and appliance servicing. They will respond to service requests, complete work orders within established timelines, and document completed maintenance activities. The technician will also conduct preventive maintenance inspections, identify potential issues before they become larger problems, and help ensure facilities remain compliant with safety and operational standards. Additional responsibilities include supporting facility upgrades, maintaining exterior grounds and shared spaces, participating in an on-call rotation for emergency situations, managing tools and maintenance inventory, and assisting with special projects or operational needs as required.

Skills and Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of commercial building, facilities, or property maintenance experience
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Basic carpentry, drywall, painting, and general building maintenance skills
  • Experience responding to service requests and completing work orders
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and facility inspections
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely
  • Trade school, vocational training, or technical certification in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or a related field
  • Experience maintaining multi-site facilities or commercial properties
  • Familiarity with building systems including HVAC controls, electrical distribution, and water systems
  • Experience working with CMMS or maintenance tracking software
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards, safety regulations, and building codes
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills
