Organization: SEBMF-East Bay Medical Foundation Position Overview: Under general supervision of may provide basic supportive services such as gathering and verifying patient information, testing preparation and monitoring, documenting routine observations, data acquisition and scoring, and assisting with appropriate interventions for patient safety. May also implement appropriate interventions for patient safety. Job Description: These Principal Accountabilities, Requirements and Qualifications are not exhaustive, but are merely the most descriptive of the current job. EDUCATION:

  • Meets Medical Board of California requirements

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider

  • PSGT-Polysomnographic Technician from Medical Board of California

  • CPSGT- Certified Polysomnographic technician from Board for Registered Polysomnographic Technologists

EXPERIENCE:

  • 6 months of experience as a Registered Polysomnographic Trainee

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Ability to recognize and provides age specific care in the treatment, assessment, and education of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

  • Knowledge of cardiorespiratory function, sleep physiology and neurology is essential in providing the basis for monitoring polysomnograms and recognizing pathology that requires treatment.

  • Understanding of physics, medical electronics, in-depth medical terminology, with emphasis on pulmonology, neurology, and sleep-related pharmacology.

  • Knowledge of administration of oxygen, nasal CPAP, suction devices, and ventilatory assist devices in accordance with established protocols.

  • Ability to work with others in a team environment.

  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Basic math and analytical skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to follow direction.

Pay Range is $48.23 to $67.51 / hour The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
