Pay or shift range: $38.46 USD to $43.25 USD

The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

Description

Salary Range: $38.46 – $43.25/ hr.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

Underwrite residential mortgage loans for sale in the secondary market, as well as portfolio mortgages, home equity loans/lines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Underwrite Conventional mortgage loans pursuant to secondary market guidelines.

  • Underwrite residential portfolio loans.

  • Underwrite home equity loans and lines, providing approvals within stipulated time frames.

  • Underwrite FHA, USDA, VA and residential construction loans (after satisfactory transition period)

  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge base related to underwriting requirements of correspondent lending partners (investors).

  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with bank loan originators, sales staff and processors.

  • Update retail lending policies and operating procedures when necessary.

  • Assure proper maintenance of information in Credit and Legal Documentation Files.

  • Ensure the bank is meeting compliance requirements for the residential lending business.

  • Maintain strong knowledge base on Bank Policies, Laws and Regulations that govern residential mortgage lending.

  • Prepare and issue commitment letters and provide to Loan Officers.

  • Active participation in demonstrating the behaviors outlined in the GRB Experience.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business-related discipline plus a minimum of 5 years’ experience underwriting mortgage loans and retail lending credit analysis, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Active CHUMS # required (may be obtained after satisfactory training/ transition period)

  • SAR ID# and SONYMA experience preferred.

  • Expert knowledge with FHA regulations and underwriting guidelines.

  • Knowledge and experience in the secondary market arena.

  • Knowledge of Fannie Mae DU, Freddie Mac LP, and GUS.
