Duties:

Veronica E. Connor Middle School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Teaching Assistant to support students with disabilities in 7th grade inclusive classrooms. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with special education teachers, general education teachers, and related service providers to help students access grade-level curriculum, build academic skills, and achieve success in the classroom.

Minimum Qualifications:

NYS Certification in Teaching Assistant required; Special Education or Students with Disabilities preferred.

Qualifications Desired:

1. Assist with the implementation of Individualized Education Plans and classroom accommodations.

2. Support students in understanding content, completing assignments, and developing organizational skills.

3. Facilitate small-group and individual instruction.

4. Help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

5. Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

6. Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
