CNC Programmer-Set-up

CNC Programmer / Machinist

My client in Northwest Iowa is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Machinist to join our CNC Department. This position is responsible for advanced CNC programming, machine setup and operation, tooling and fixture management, and providing technical leadership and support to the production team.

The ideal candidate will have strong CNC machining and programming experience, be proficient in Mastercam or similar CNC programming software , and have the ability to troubleshoot machining processes while supporting and training other machinists.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and manual machining equipment.

• Create, edit, optimize, and maintain CNC programs.

• Utilize Mastercam or similar CAM software to develop CNC programs.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

• Manage CNC program documentation, revisions, and related records.

• Select, manage, and maintain cutting tools, tooling, and fixtures.

• Troubleshoot machining processes and make adjustments to improve quality, efficiency, and productivity.

• Perform machine setups and verify tooling, fixtures, offsets, and program accuracy.

• Inspect machined components to ensure they meet dimensional and quality requirements.

• Train, mentor, and provide technical support to other machinists.

• Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve machining issues and improve processes.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

• Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing standards.

Qualifications

• Previous CNC programming and machining experience required.

• Manufacturing experience required; die casting or metalworking experience is a plus.

• Proficiency with Mastercam or similar CNC programming software .

• Strong understanding of CNC machine setup, tooling, fixtures, and machining processes.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

• Excellent attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality and safety.

• Ability to train and support other team members.

• English proficiency required; Spanish language skills are a plus.

Pay Details: $60,000.00 to $70,000.00 per year
