Full job description

Assignment: 6.5 hours per day, 184 days per year Minimum hourly rate: $22.61 Click here to view the Paraprofessional wage schedule. Please scroll down to Appendix A. Benefit eligible position. Click here to view benefit details.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Reinforce the instructional plan laid out by the classroom teacher and basic skills teachers by working with students individually or in small groups.
  • Plan and prepare study aids such as flash cards and worksheets.
  • Monitor and report the progress of individual students.
  • Assist with the assessment of student progress.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in working with elementary age students.
  • Evidence of a strong background in math and reading.
  • Evidence of strong technology skills in order to assist students with technology skills.
  • Evidence of the ability to be firm but kind, caring but consistent.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative.
  • Clear communication in speaking and writing.
  • Evidence of friendly, outgoing personality.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Evidence of willingness to participate in staff development.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow through on a project.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, punctuality, and efficiency.
