Job Description

This is a hybrid, per diem position with a significant field-based component . The Academic Outreach Coordinator will regularly represent Cedars-Sinai Health Sciences University (HSU) at graduate fairs, recruitment events, academic outreach activities, and community events throughout the greater Los Angeles area. Regular local travel and flexibility based on scheduled events are required.

The Academic Outreach Coordinator supports student recruitment and academic outreach efforts designed to build prospective student pipelines for HSU programs. This role is well suited for someone with experience in student recruitment, admissions, higher education outreach, community engagement, healthcare education, or a closely related environment .

The Coordinator will independently research and identify relevant recruitment and outreach opportunities, develop and maintain an event calendar, coordinate HSU participation, and represent the University at external events. The role will build relationships with colleges, universities, academic programs, community organizations, and other partners that can connect prospective students with HSU educational opportunities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Represents the HSU at community events, career fairs, educational outreach activities, and student recruitment events.

  • Conducts outreach and follow-up communications with prospective students via email, phone, and other communication platforms.

  • Supports prospective student pipeline development and engagement initiatives to advance enrollment goals.

  • Coordinates and participates in information sessions, campus visits, recruitment presentations, and outreach activities.

  • Assists with recruitment operations during peak admissions and enrollment periods.

  • Builds and maintains relationships with schools, colleges, community organizations, workforce development programs, and academic pipeline partners.

  • Serves as a liaison between the HSU and community-based organizations to strengthen outreach partnerships and community engagement.

  • Coordinates outreach and recruitment activities across Cedars-Sinai departments, including admissions, marketing, academic programs, and clinical departments.

  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate outreach activities to support established strategies with enrollment and workforce development goals.

  • Supports planning and implementation of recruitment campaigns, outreach initiatives, and engagement events.

  • Enters, maintains, and updates CRM and student engagement systems (e.g., HubSpot, Maestro, or similar platforms) to manage contacts, document activities, and support recruitment reporting.

  • Monitors outreach and recruitment metrics to support continuous improvement and report metrics to inform program evaluation.

  • Partners with marketing to support targeted recruitment communications and dissemination of promotional materials.

  • Provides operational and administrative support for recruitment, outreach, and engagement initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, communications, public health, business administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in student recruitment, admissions, academic outreach, higher education, community engagement, healthcare education, or a closely related field.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience planning or coordinating recruitment events, academic outreach activities, admissions events, community engagement initiatives, or similar programs.

  • Demonstrated experience interacting directly with prospective students, educational partners, community organizations, or similar external audiences.

  • Experience coordinating multiple events or outreach activities, including scheduling, logistics, stakeholder communication, and follow-up.

  • Ability to independently manage an outreach schedule and regularly travel to recruitment and academic outreach events throughout the greater Los Angeles area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting student recruitment, admissions, or outreach within a college, university, graduate program, healthcare education program, or similar educational environment.

  • Experience building relationships with colleges, universities, academic programs, community organizations, or prospective student populations.

  • Experience using HubSpot, Maestro, or another CRM/database system to track prospective student engagement and outreach activity.

  • Experience using Excel or reporting tools to monitor recruitment activity, event participation, prospective student engagement, and related outcomes.
