Full job description

Service Area Manager – Puerto Rico

Location: Puerto Rico | Employment Type: Full-Time

Travel: Frequent travel within Puerto Rico, with occasional overnight travel

Schedule: Flexible, including on-call, weekends, holidays, and after-hours as needed

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Service Area Manager to lead and oversee service operations throughout Puerto Rico.

This position will be responsible for managing service activities, leading technical teams, coordinating resources, maintaining customer relationships, and ensuring operational, financial, safety, and quality objectives are achieved.

The role will work closely with field service leadership and technicians to optimize workforce utilization, improve service performance, support customer needs, and develop the local service organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily service operations across Puerto Rico.

  • Manage and develop field service technicians and supervisors.

  • Plan maintenance activities, staffing, resources, and emergency response.

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships.

  • Monitor service performance, KPIs, costs, and profitability.

  • Coordinate parts, tools, vehicles, subcontractors, and technical resources.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, contractual, and regulatory requirements.

  • Support recruitment, training, performance management, and team development.

  • Identify service opportunities and support business growth.

  • Provide regular operational and financial updates to management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or related field; technical degree with relevant leadership experience also considered.

  • 5+ years of experience in service operations, field service, maintenance, or a related technical environment.

  • Experience leading technical teams and managing customer relationships.

  • Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with budgets, KPIs, resource planning, and service operations.

  • Proficiency in English and Spanish .

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within Puerto Rico.

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred

  • Experience with natural gas or biogas engines, generator sets, CHP, or distributed-energy systems.

  • Knowledge of engine controls, PLCs, electrical generation, fuel systems, or emissions equipment.

  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP/service-management systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced service leader to play a key role in building and developing service operations across Puerto Rico.

Pay Details: $75,000.00 per hour
