Salary Range: $19.67 – $27.00 hourly, based on experience and qualifications

About the Role

We’re looking for a dedicated Lead ICU Tech to join our team and help us continue delivering the level of care our patients and families deserve. In this role, you’ll be a vital part of our clinical team, ensuring excellent service, collaboration, and patient outcomes in a fast-paced healthcare environment. As the Lead ICU Tech you will be responsible for providing oversight and supervision to ICCU Techs on the assigned unit. As the lead Tech you will assume responsibility for performing clerical, direct patient care activities and continuous cardiac monitoring, under the supervision of Director and/or designee, thus enabling the professional staff to devote more time to direct patient care. You will demonstrate a commitment to a team approach as evidenced by a supportive, positive attitude and communication pattern as well as using a cooperative and collaborative approach to ensure comprehensive care to patients.

What You’ll Do

  • Coordinates department schedules and orientation for ICCU Techs. Ensures that all competency checklists are accurately completed and reflect best practices for required regulatory and quality agencies. Assists with classroom training of new ICCU Techs. Interfaces with clinical educators to ensure classroom content is reflective of patient populations from the department. Provides input to ICCU Tech evaluations. Supports the leadership team to move patient safety via monitoring forward.

  • Responds to patient/family requests (tells patient/family what to expect, when and why; informs patient/family when problems arise)

  • Monitors cardiac and immediately reports any changes in cardiac rhythms to the appropriate unit and/or ICCU Registered Nurse. Documents rhythm strips accurately.

  • Collects physical, social and emotional data on patients; documents and communicates pertinent information to appropriate members of the health care team.

  • Uses clinical equipment accurately and correctly when needed to perform basic patient care. Demonstrates knowledge of aseptic technique. Demonstrates an understanding of the principles of growth and development to provide age specific treatment and care. Initiates appropriate intervention immediately in a crisis/emergent situation.

  • Performs basic computer functions including but not limited to entering patient information and providers orders timely and accurately. Demonstrates computer literacy through accurate scheduling of tests, consults and treatments. Accurately completes all forms and records for patient care procedures.

  • Maintains a tracking system of each patient receiving and disseminating all incoming and outgoing communications for the department.

  • Maintains an appropriate inventory of supplies. Submits appropriate work orders, orders supplies,

  • internal and external special orders. Stock rooms, specialty carts, code carts, IV trays and cabinets.

  • Monitors work functions and productivity of the ICCU technicians.

  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in alignment with Saratoga Hospital values

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support health, healing, and service excellence

  • Perform clinical responsibilities with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency

  • Use hospital systems and tools to document care and support operations

  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and support patient and staff satisfaction

  • Serve as a positive, professional representative of our hospital and community

What You Bring

  • High school graduate/GED. At least one year of clinical hands on experience preferred.

  • BLS certification. EKG course with demonstrated competency required once hired. Must obtain BLS certification within one year of the date of hire.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Commitment to providing patient-first, high-quality service

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
