Hatch is seeking a dynamicJunior Civil Engineer (Rail). Reporting to theInfrastructuregroup, you will support offices globally working from ourHouston, TXoffice location.

Qualifications:
-
Roles at this level are filled by recent or soon to be university/college graduates with little or no professional experience but possessing relevant skills
-
Preferred bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering
-
Minimum of a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
As the successful candidate, you will:
-
Apply engineering principles to provide efficient, effective, economical and timely solutions to design problems in a multidiscipline project environment
-
Design track and railway infrastructure in accordance with the quality objectives and regulations, laws and standards
-
Produce a wide variety of track designs, grading models, DTM surface and applicable details
-
Work with LIDAR point clouds, manage, verify and control surveys and geographic data for design needs
-
Ensure compliance with laws and regulations in health and safety related to design
You bring to the role:
-
Experience in civil infrastructure design, DTM surfaces, alignment, grading/drainage design, and construction is an asset
-
Experience working for an engineering consultancy in the rail sector or railroad is an asset
-
Experience in the use and application of railway industry standards is an asset
-
Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Navisworks and ArcGIS is an asset
-
Willingness to travel and work onsite (including remote locations)
-
Previous co-op or internship experience is an asset

Support preparation of drawings from detailed notes and specifications

Coordination with other technicians/engineers on projects
