Summary
The National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) is seeking candidates with a commitment to excellence and the energy, enthusiasm, and innovative thinking to serve as the Ethics Coordinator working closely with the NHGRI Executive Officer in their role as the NHGRI Deputy Ethics Counselor (DEC).
Duties
Develop and manage a comprehensive ethics and standards of conduct program for the Institute. Recommend Institute policies and procedures and monitor their implementation by the institute's divisions and offices. Responsible for development of an annual ethics training plan for the Institute. Independently request information from employees with covered activities, then collates reports from divisions and review the forms for compliance with policy. Qualifications
In order to qualify for the GS-14 level, you must meet the following requirements: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: providing advice to employees and managers on the interpretation and application of ethics statutes, regulations, and policies on issues including financial disclosure, recusals and gift exceptions; reviewing confidential and public financial disclosure reports or prohibited holdings reports; providing advice on possible conflict of interest violations and making corrective action recommendations; and developing ethics training courses and materials. You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay. This position is designated as a "non-emergency/teleworker" position and the selected candidate will be considered a "non-emergency/teleworker" employee.
