Summary

About the Position: The Medical Records department is located on the 2nd floor of Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Gordon, Augusta, Georgia. Entrance to the department is restricted and requires badge access. Office hours are Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

  • Plan and direct the health record management operations for all eligible patient populations within the medical facility.
  • Exercise a full range of supervisory responsibilities, including managing personnel, evaluating performance, and handling staffing.
  • Ensure medical records are completed and maintained in compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and Defense Health Agency requirements.
  • Manages the secure storage, accountability, and proper retirement or transfer of Service Treatment Records.
  • Analyzes medical record data and reports on trends to support quality management and decision-making for leadership.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Overseeing and performing the collection, scanning, document indexing, and quality control of loose documentation and paper records into an electronic health record system; and 2) Managing health records, including tracking, auditing, requisitioning, transferring, and executing proper disposition; and 3) Directing the daily workflow including distributing assignments, establishing operational priorities, monitoring backlog, and adjusting workloads. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07)
