Full job description
Southland Holdings is currently accepting resumes for experienced heavy highway Field Engineers for our Southeast Texas/Louisiana division.

Responsibilities/Duties:

Assists the Project Manager with required documents and information to support the successful completion of construction activities

Attends construction project meetings and safety meetings as assigned Other Skills and Abilities

Serves as resource for project specifications, procedures, relevant portions of contract, etc.

Collects measurements and information to compare to contract documentation to depict changes, requests for information, etc…

Evaluates change order requests including design changes, specifications and drawing releases and reports status.

Completes project close out requirements in accordance with contract documents.

Maintains effective and professional relationships with owners, Engineers, vendors and contractors.

Executes additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
-
Preferred 1+ years of highway construction field experience, DOT and must be proficient with AutoCAD
-
Bilingual is a must (Spanish and English)
-
B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
-
Responsible to learn construction practices as required for compliance with federal, state, and local codes; industry standards; company procedures; contractual requirements; etc.

Must be able to legally work in the United States.

Must be willing to work in a drug-free environment and agree to a post offer drug test.
-
Must be willing to work safely and keep OSHA recordable incidents to a minimum.

Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards and specialty bridge design software; must be proficient with MS Office.

P6 Experience preferred

Must be physically capable of navigating rugged terrain & climbing for the purpose of performing the duties outlined above.

Must be willing to travel and/or relocate as needed.
