YSS is looking for an experienced Outpatient Addictions Coordinator to lead our substance use treatment services at the State Training School (STS) in Eldora .

This is an opportunity to combine clinical work with leadership as you oversee the day-to-day operations of YSS ’s outpatient addictions program. You’ll supervise and support addictions counselors, collaborate closely with STS staff and other professionals, and provide direct counseling and treatment services to adolescents and young adults. Through both your clinical work and leadership, you’ll help young people strengthen recovery skills, make healthier choices, and build the skills and support they need for success when they return to their communities.

What You'll Do...

• Lead day-to-day operations of YSS’s outpatient substance use treatment program at STS.

• Supervise, coach, and support Outpatient Addictions Counselors through consultation, training, and professional development.

• Provide individual and intensive outpatient group counseling, skill development, and crisis intervention.

• Complete assessments and develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.

• Monitor client progress and communicate updates with appropriate STS staff.

• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation and program records.

• Coordinate admissions and connect youth with aftercare and continuing-care resources before discharge.

• Complete required monthly and quarterly program reports.

• Collaborate with YSS and STS staff and leadership to ensure services meet program, clinical, and contractual expectations.

• Foster a respectful, collaborative, confidential, and accountable environment where both youth and staff can thrive.

Required Qualifications - MUST HAVES :

• Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field.

• Current Iowa Substance Abuse Counselor Certification as a CADC, IADC, or tCADC.

• At least five years of professional experience in the addictions field.

• At least three years of supervisory experience.

• Demonstrated commitment to professional ethics, confidentiality, and appropriate professional boundaries.

Preferred Qualifications - SHOULD HAVES:

• Master’s degree in human services or a related field.

• Experience working with adolescents involved in the juvenile justice system.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
