We currently have an opportunity available for a Manager on the Order Management team in the IT – Supply Chain organization , located at our headquarters in St. Louis, MO. The Order Management team lies at the heart of our supply chain, playing a critical role in building and supporting the systems that ensure the reliable and seamless creation and management of over one million orders annually. Collaborating closely with our business stakeholders, we develop solutions that drive efficient and effective operations at scale.

The Manager is an integrator of people and processes, a thought leader, a problem solver, a mentor to direct reports, and a trusted technology consultant to business stakeholders. This role requires strong domain expertise in Information Technology and Supply Chain, coupled with the leadership capability to inspire high-performing teams, translate strategy into execution, and align IT services with evolving business goals.

What will you be doing?

You will lead a growing team of 10+ analysts and developers - employees and contractors across the US, Costa Rica, and India - partnering with IT leadership, architects, business teams, and vendors to deliver technically excellent solutions.

You'll own the successful execution of complex application initiatives spanning custom development and enterprise platforms (including ERP), bringing strong technical fluency, disciplined delivery leadership, and rigor around engineering and quality standards. Working closely with Solution Architecture and Product Management, you'll advance delivery maturity and execution excellence as an active member of the IT leadership team.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership & People Development

• Promote World Wide Technology's core values, corporate goals, and departmental initiatives

• Lead and mentor a team of individual contributors, with potential future responsibility for managing leaders as the team grows; set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and develop team members' skills to build a high-performing, engaged team

• Create and foster an atmosphere of mentoring, quality, diversity, and collaboration

• Manage your team, including hiring, training, staff development, performance management, and annual compensation review; identify and act upon the staffing needs of the team

• Guide the growth and development of team members in both technical and non-technical areas, supporting their current job duties and future growth

• Coach team members and peers on issues such as interpersonal conflicts, communication, and leadership development

Delivery Execution & Risk Management

• Own end-to-end delivery execution for all work for the team, including custom applications and enterprise platform initiatives

• Partner with the team to define realistic timelines and committed delivery dates; establish internal milestones and leading indicators to proactively manage progress

• Identify and mitigate technical and execution risks early, and drive recovery plans when milestones are at risk or missed

• Provide clear, executive-ready visibility into delivery health

• Manage the workload of the team and handle internal and external escalations

• Work with Product Owners and the team to ensure stories are appropriately broken down for predictable execution

Engineering & Quality Standards

• Ensure development work adheres to defined engineering standards, including code review rigor, branching strategies, CI/CD practices, documentation standards, and automated testing expectations

• Ask probing technical questions to surface hidden risks, inefficiencies, or quality gaps

• Ensure the delivery of fit-for-purpose, technically excellent solutions that adhere to quality and architecture standards

• Drive continuous improvement in delivery and engineering maturity

• Lead analysts in defining effective testing strategies early in the lifecycle; partner with the QA organization to implement scalable QA practices

Strategic Leadership & Collaboration

• Advocate innovative approaches and an AI-first mindset to solutions and application delivery

• Collaborate with product owners, internal and external customers, and other leaders to advance World Wide Technology's competitive advantage; communicate project status, risks, and impacts in clear business terms

• Proactively identify and resolve issues within your immediate and extended leadership team

• Participate as an active member of the IT leadership team and contribute to organizational goal setting

Qualifications

Required

• 8+ years of experience in IT delivery, engineering management, or technical leadership, including 5+ years of demonstrated performance in a people leadership role

• Experience leading analysts and cross-functional delivery teams

• Experience leading custom application development initiatives, with a strong technical foundation and fluency in software development lifecycle practices

• Demonstrated experience improving delivery discipline

• Experience driving realistic estimation, milestone planning, and execution recovery

• Strong understanding of Agile delivery frameworks, story decomposition, branching strategies, automated testing, CI/CD principles, and technical risk mitigation

• Strong understanding of Supply Chain business processes and how technology can enhance and improve these processes

• Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams in a dynamic environment, including experience leading cross-functional teams and partnering with other IT teams and stakeholders to deliver results

• Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills, with excellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills

• Goal- and outcome-oriented with excellent work ethic, self-motivation, and demonstrable experience motivating others

Preferred

• Experience supporting Supply Chain, Order Management, or ERP platforms

• Experience overseeing both custom development and packaged/ERP implementations

• Hands-on experience with Oracle EBS – functional or technical

• Experience in custom web application development and standards

Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of the salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $126,800 to $190,200 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that are not included in the base pay.
