Position Summary:

Join EOCF as a Preschool Teacher Assistant in one of our classrooms and help us make a lasting difference. In this role, you will assist the classroom teacher in creating and implementing a developmentally appropriate educational experience for children either birth to 3 years old, or ages 3–5.
The openings for this position are based at either several of our Part Year preschool centers which follows a school-year schedule or at One of our Full Day Full Year centers. A successful candidate will work closely with classroom staff to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where children can learn, grow and thrive.
Compensation & Schedule:
Our Part Year sites operate Monday - Friday, and staff are typically assigned shifts between the hours of 7:30am - 5pm, either 36 or 40 hours per week depending on assignment.
Our Full Day Full Year centers operate Monday - Friday from 6:30AM to 6PM, and are assigned an 8-hour shift during the open hours of operation. If interested in the Full Day Full Year opening, will need to be available between 6:30am-6pm.
This benefitted position has an hourly wage ranging from $20.28 to $20.57, based on experience and qualifications.
Fully Qualified Required Qualifications:
Certificate of Proficiency in Early Childhood Education, current CDA certificate, or WA State Initial Certificate in ECE.
Trainee Qualified Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred Experience:
One year of experience working with children ages 3–5 in an early childhood setting.
A training plan may be considered based on qualifications.
Bilingual highly desired
Key Responsibilities:
Support the delivery of curriculum aligned with Head Start and ECE best practices.
Assist in promoting children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
Help prepare and maintain classroom materials and learning environments.
Foster a safe, and nurturing atmosphere for all children.
Assist with documentation, assessments, and parent communication as directed.
Engage in active supervision of children, including indoor/outdoor play and mealtimes.
Collaborate with team members to ensure quality and consistency across the classroom.
Ability to:
Implement established child development practices, principles and performance standards in a comprehensive classroom environment.
Maintain confidentiality of records and information.
Use the team approach to resolving problems or conflicts.
Perform the physical requirements of the job which include regular crouching, stooping, bending, kneeling, sitting on the floor to assist and engage with children, and outdoors on a playground setting monitoring safe play and supervision.
