About this Position
The technician will process print and media workflow in operations area. Print will involve print, quality control, and delivery of cycle output and special requests in accordance to service level agreements. Media processing will involve manifesting and managing reports and virtual/physical tape media by process of established procedures. The technician will additionally communicate status of regular workflow while tracking and communicating any issues that arise.
Hours: 7 AM to 8 PM 3-day Work Week on Rotating Schedule.
This role is not eligible for sponsorship now or in the future.
The salary range for this role is $40k - $50k.
Responsibilities & Qualifications

Print output as it becomes available or is requested.

Print from multiple differing computer interfaces.

Monitor print as it is processed on printers and address issues such as paper jams and supply replenishment when intervention is required.

Process printed output through quality control procedures.

Deliver QC'ed output to the departments by established service level agreement times.

Inventory paper stock and printer supplies each shift.

Monitor scratch and active tape levels of virtual and physical tape libraries.

Manifest reports for tracking media at the beginning of each day.

Communicate the status of media to peers and support team.
-
Ensure management and support teams are aware of any media delays.

Process media in accordance to media processing procedures.

Monitor the status of physical hardware and follow up with any issues that arise.

Manifest problem tickets in the event of issues with any print or media hardware.

Document all issues on all hard and soft copies as developments occur and resolve tracking tickets once issues are resolved.

Communicate developments thoroughly with peers and support teams and escalate issues to management when necessary.

Comply with all procedures regarding the handling of print and media processing.

Familiarize with and execute emergency procedures as needed.

Review procedures for outdated or obsolete information and update procedures for approval.

Coordinate with peers to ensure that all tasks are complete by end-of-shift.

Communicate all developments verbally and via turnover logs.
-
Complete all tasks that appear in turnover logs by end-of-shift and ensure that all logs are completely filled out.
Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum of 1 year exp required
-
Applicant should have a general understanding and basic exposure to data center and raised floor operations.

Xerox production printers or equivilant, mainframe environments and IBM tape products.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work flexible schedules, familiarity of Microsoft software products (Windows, Office, etc), ability to interface with users and peers professionally, ability to multi-task, ability to work under pressure

Knowledge of mainframe software applications (TSO, ISPF, SDSF), knowledge of mainframe hardware, knowledge of Xerox hardware, knowledge of raised floor environment.
