The Service Operations Intern will gain hands-on experience supporting the day-to-day operations of Butler Machinery's service organization. This role provides exposure to customer service, service administration, process improvement initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration with service and sales teams. The intern will develop valuable business and operational skills while contributing to projects that support efficient, customer-focused operations.

This role requires 15–25 hours per week during the school year with full-time availability during breaks.

Work Location: Candidates must be located at, and work from, our corporate office in Fargo, ND. Position is not eligible to be remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists the service department with scheduling, customer communication, and work order review and closing activities.

  • Support daily service operations by helping maintain accurate records, documentation, and administrative processes.

  • Collaborate with service and sales teams to enhance customer relationships and ensure a positive customer experience.

  • Participate in projects focused on improving service processes, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

  • Provide administrative and project support for department initiatives and special projects.

  • Works within and promotes vision, mission, and values of BMC.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Individual who is working towards a degree in a business related or other related major in college preferred.

  • Computer skills essential with experience in Power-Point and Excel required.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Attention to detail and a high level of organization.
