  • JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS

  • Job Summary :

  • The Employee Relations Specialist serves as a resource and advisor to department leaders and staff and manages organizational risk by advising department leaders of implications of HR decisions and by providing solutions that mitigate risks and accomplish results. Ensures human resources policies and practices comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Develops, coordinates, and executes employee relations strategies and provides guidance on HR policies and procedures. This position is also actively involved in the development and implementation of key HR projects and activities.

  • Education :

  • High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

  • Registration/Certification/Licensure :

  • None required.

  • Experience :

  • Position requires a minimum 3 years’ experience performing human resource functions to include: employee relations, project management; and implementation of HR policies and procedures.

  • Other Requirements :

  • Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.

  • Ability to effectively communicate—verbally and in writing--with all staff levels within the organization to resolve problems and to be a positive agent of change.

  • HR competency and skills sufficient enough to effectively partner with leadership and professionals to deliver solutions aligned with business strategy and mission.

  • Ability to deliver professional, positive, and proactive customer service.

  • Ability to effectively use computer applications to perform job duties and responsibilities including familiarity with applicant tracking, performance management, payroll, timekeeping, and learning management systems.

  • Ability to effectively multi-task in a complex environment having emergent situations requiring re-prioritization of duties and assignments.

  • Strong consultative skills and the ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality.

  • Ability to achieve results and work toward goals in a complex and challenging environment.
