AI Architect (Prototype/POCs)

Job Description

The Innovation Lab is expanding and seeking Senior AI Engineers to design and build prototypes, POCs, and MVPs focused on emerging technologies. This team operates as a shared service across four organizations, incubating experimental solutions that are later handed off to domain-specific engineering teams for scaling and production.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build prototypes, POCs, and MVPs across emerging technology initiatives
• Focus heavily on AI / GenAI solutions, including LLM-based applications
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate ideas into working prototypes
• Hand off validated solutions to downstream engineering teams (dev, UAT, production)
• Rapidly experiment, iterate, and validate ideas in a lab-style environment

Required Skills

• Strong Python development experience
• Hands-on experience building LLM-based applications
• Familiarity with LangChain
• Experience generating and accelerating development using AI tools (e.g., Claude)
• Cloud experience -they are primarily in GCP/Azure so those are preferred
• Proven ability to build fast, functional prototypes

Skills and Requirements

Skill sets: Ability to develop prototypes, PoCs, MVPs using one or more of the following,

1. AI/ML Knowledge: Strong foundation in AI, deep learning, and machine learning principles.
2. Programming Skills: Expertise in Python and tools like Hugging Face, Langchain, and OpenAI API.
3. Large Language Model Expertise: Hands on experience building, fine tuning, evaluating, and deploying LLMs (open source and commercial).Agentic AI & Workflow
4. Orchestration: Experience building agent based systems using tools like LangGraph, CrewAI, OpenAI agents, or similar frameworks..
5. Multi-Modal Data and AI Tools: Experience with multi-modal data and intelligent agent-based tools. Mindset: Self-motivated individual with a passion for solving hard problems using AI/GenAI. Must have collaborative and an innovative mindset.

Independent, hands-on AI engineer who can navigate ambiguity and deliver with minimal oversight. Confident and self-sufficient; able to take ownership of an assignment and execute quickly. Strong communicator who can engage stakeholders, ask questions, and drive initiatives forward. Team environment is focused on multiple fast-moving prototypes and innovation projects, not large long-term initiatives. Strong experience with agentic AI, multi-agent systems, and autonomous AI workflows; RAG is now table stakes. Highly technical builder who can advise the team on next steps after a POC is delivered. Candidates who can demonstrate their work stand out immediately. Want to see GitHub projects, hackathons, competitions, and personal AI experimentation. Passion for AI extends beyond day-to-day job responsibilities. Demonstrates complex problem-solving, creative thinking, and solutioning. Preference for more senior candidates with a proven track record of building and innovating.
