Ayr designs and manufactures critical power grid equipment including power transformers, distribution transformers, special-purpose transformers, high-voltage circuit breakers, and medium-voltage switchgear. They serve markets such as renewables, data centers, utilities, oil & gas, and industrial sectors. Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management

Develop and implement sourcing strategies for key transformer materials — core steel, copper conductors, insulation materials, bushings, tap changers, oil, and hardware.

Identify, evaluate, and onboard global and domestic suppliers for critical components.

Negotiate long-term price agreements, lead time commitments, and performance clauses.

Build alternate vendor base to de-risk supply chain.
- Procurement Operations

Convert approved BOMs into purchase orders based on project schedules.

Track order status, manage delays, and ensure material availability aligns with production plan.

Coordinate with planning and engineering to prioritize and expedite critical items.

Maintain ERP/MRP accuracy for lead times, min-max levels, and procurement costs.
- Cost & Commercial Management
- Drive cost reduction through volume leverage, value engineering, and global sourcing.
- Benchmark prices periodically to maintain competitiveness.
- Analyze landed cost impacts for imported components (freight, duties, logistics).
- Ensure timely vendor payments, credit terms optimization, and budget adherence.
- Quality & Compliance

Develop vendor scorecards for delivery reliability, quality, and cost competitiveness.

Work closely with Quality and Engineering teams to ensure supplier compliance with IEEE/ANSI and internal standards.

Drive vendor audits and material inspection protocols.

Ensure REACH/RoHS/environmental and safety compliance for materials.
Skills & Attributes:

Strong understanding of transformer materials and sub-vendor ecosystem (core, winding, insulation, bushings, oil, etc.).

Technical-commercial acumen — ability to read drawings, specifications, and BOMs.

Supplier negotiation and contract management skills.
-
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and data-driven decision making.

Strong follow-up, communication, and analytical ability.

Strategic mindset with hands-on operational execution. Qualifications

Education: B.E/B.Tech in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. MBA preferred.

Experience: 8–15 years in transformer or heavy electrical equipment procurement.

Experience in sourcing from both domestic and international suppliers.

Prior experience with transformer component vendors is highly desirable. Work Environment:

Preferred Base: Hyderabad, Prayagraj

Regular travel to manufacturing sites (Hyderabad and across India) & ports.
