Full job description
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Denton, Texas on a Contract basis. This role focuses on product cost setup, master data accuracy, and inventory-related accounting support within NetSuite. The ideal candidate will bring strong cost accounting knowledge and a disciplined approach to maintaining financial and operational data that supports manufacturing and inventory accuracy.
Responsibilities:

Maintain and revise bill of materials, routing structures, and related product cost information to keep manufacturing records current and reliable.

Establish standard costs for both newly introduced and existing items, ensuring pricing data aligns with operational and financial expectations.

Convert budgeted cost information into system-ready product setups and enter routing and costing details into NetSuite with a high degree of accuracy.

Use internal costing and routing tools to calculate production inputs, labor assumptions, and overall manufacturing costs for product setup activities.

Create and update item master records in NetSuite, including packaging details, units of measure, and quantity structures across bags, boxes, and pallets.

Collaborate with commercial, warehouse, and operations teams to support new product launches and confirm required inventory and manufacturing attributes are properly configured.

Oversee cycle count administration for a large inventory population, coordinating count schedules and partnering with onsite teams that complete physical counts.

Review count variances, reconcile discrepancies, and contribute to inventory control efforts and reporting that improve stock accuracy.

Maintain a broad set of product-specific data fields and support ongoing system data integrity across inventory and costing records. Requirements • Experience preparing journal entries and working within the general ledger in an accounting environment.

Working knowledge of cost accounting principles, including standard costing and inventory valuation support.

Hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite, for item setup, costing, or inventory data maintenance.

Ability to manage detailed master data accurately across a high volume of products and changing business needs.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate variances and reconcile inventory-related discrepancies.

Effective communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with commercial, warehouse, and operations teams.

Proficiency in organizing priorities, meeting deadlines, and maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced contract assignment.
