Job Title: People & Culture Assistant

Job Summary:

CASES is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and service-focused Part-Time People & Culture Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of the People & Culture department. This role serves as a critical administrative partner to the People & Culture team, helping ensure employee records, documentation, and key processes are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with organizational standards.

We are looking for a team member who is highly organized, proactive, and committed to providing exceptional internal customer service. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing multiple priorities, maintaining confidentiality, and supporting employees and managers with professionalism and care. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to People & Culture operations, HR systems, compliance processes, and employee engagement practices while contributing to a mission-driven organization.

Salary: The hourly pay for this position is $30.00 per hour.

Shift Hours: The People and Culture Assistant is part-time working 20 hours per week.

Location Address: 4 West 125th Street, 3rd floor, New York, NY 10027 and/or 25 Chapel Street, 11th Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11201.

Workplace Flexibility: Hybrid - one day remote per week.

What you will be doing:

  • Maintaining people and culture data integrity

  • Support employee file maintenance, including organizing records, identifying missing items, and helping maintain accurate documentation

  • Coordinate background check and MVR clearance processes, including initiating requests, tracking status, following up on missing items, and escalating concerns

  • Process employment verifications and routine employee documentation using approved templates and procedures

  • Complete simple check requests and related administrative follow-up to support P&C operations

  • Provide administrative support for employee experience processes, including P&C condolences, mailings, and other routine employee touchpoints

  • Provide backup support to other P&C administrative workflows as needed

  • Escalate sensitive or complex matters to the appropriate P&C team member

What we are looking for:

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage recurring tasks with accuracy and follow-through

  • Comfort using Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, HR systems, and shared dashboards; ADP experience is a plus

  • Strong written communication skills and ability to use approved templates to respond to routine inquiries

  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion

  • Ability to work 20 hours per week in the office, with one remote workday, to support file management, mail distribution, condolence outreach, and other administrative functions

  • Interest in HR operations, employee lifecycle administration, compliance tracking, and/or P&C systems
