The ISSA General Clerk III is responsible for performing various general clerical task such as data entry, filing documents, answering multi-line phones/voicemail systems, scheduling reviewing records, MROs, SDR’s and producing reports.

Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

  • Ensures DA 1687 (Signature Cards) are complete and filed

  • Comprehend workplace operations such as external and internal policies and procedures.

  • May also direct lower level clerks.

  • Gathers, complies, and verifies information and performs data entry.

  • Assist the Supply Tech with damaged or missing item by properly filling out a Supply Discrepancy Report (SDR).

  • Ensure sections have MROs and pick tickets.

  • Follows clearly detailed procedures in completing several repetitive clerical steps performed in a prescribed or varied sequence, such as data entry, filing, operating basic office equipment (i.e. photocopier, facsimile, multi-line phone/voicemail systems, and minimal computer programs.

  • Selects from alternative methods and refers problems not solvable by adapting or interpreting substantive guides, manuals or procedures.

  • Assists in a variety of administrative matters including, but not limited to, verifying statistical reports for accuracy and completeness, compiling information, scheduling, and handling.

  • Utilizes experience and knowledge to determine the clerical steps (type of sequence) to be used, depending on the task.

  • Assists in inventories.

  • Other duties may be assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.

  • Job duties and responsibilities may change due to contractual requirements.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Function in an office or warehouse environment in a stationary position approximately 50 percent of time or more.

  • May be exposed to outside weather such as exposure to heat, cold, and warehouse environments.

  • Based on mission requirements there may be required to work overtime, flex time work and weekends.

  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as protective mask, safety vest, steel or composite shoes/boots, safety gloves, hard hat and eyewear in certain areas.

  • Work will typically be in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.

  • There may be times when an employee is exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions.

  • Regular Work Schedule: 1st shift, Monday - Friday (40 hours) 8:00am - 4:30pm.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. 50 lbs. assisted.

  • Must be able to walk on uneven ground and within work various sites and withstand prolonged periods of standing for 6-8 hours a day in performance of duties.

  • Work requires continuous walking, standing and sitting. Must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions and procedures. Work requires extensive interaction with customer. Must comply with published Company work rules.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Must be able to pass the standard background check.

  • Must have a valid REAL ID State Driver’s License with no restrictions.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI Tier 1 Public Trust.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).

  • Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or a U.S. Passport.

  • Must be able to maintain driving privileges aboard the Fort Benning Installation.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Three (3) years of related experience working in an office environment preferred

SKILLS:

  • Possess high ethical standards and demonstrate professionalism

  • Ability to work independently or in a team-based, highly collaborative environment.

  • Must be able to operate standard office equipment, such as a computer, multi-functional copier, fax, and office phone

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite products, to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be able to work in fast paced office environment.
