Full job description

Who we are: Nirvana is on a mission to harness the power of data to revolutionize commercial insurance and enable a safer world. We're bringing much-needed innovation into the legacy, trillion-dollar commercial insurance industry, using predictive models built on real-time IoT data from billions of connected devices to better understand and price risks. Our AI-driven platforms change how an insurance company operates — personalized risk scoring, faster underwriting, modernized claims, and proactive insights that help customers prevent accidents. We've already proven the scale — serving thousands of fleets and more than doubling written premiums year over year, with a data moat of 55+ billion telematics miles. With $270M+ raised, including our Series D in December 2025, and backing from Lightspeed, General Catalyst, and Valor, we're accelerating. Our leadership has helped scale multi-billion-dollar companies including Samsara, Rubrik, and Flexport, and includes industry veterans from Hiscox, The Hartford, and RLI.

About the role: We're hiring a Manager, Strategic Accounts to lead a team of Business Development Managers and own strategic growth for a defined portfolio of agency partners. You'll manage relationships at the agency leadership level while your team owns relationships at the producer level — turning market insight into growth plans your agencies can actually execute against.

What you'll do:

  • Lead a team of Business Development Managers, hiring, coaching, and developing talent within your team

  • Develop and drive strategic growth plans for your agency portfolio, factoring in market trends and the competitive landscape

  • Build and maintain relationships with agency leadership to align on growth strategies and production targets

  • Design and implement incentive programs that motivate agencies to hit or exceed targets

  • Oversee contract creation, negotiation, and renewal with agencies

  • Ensure agency activities comply with regulatory requirements, coordinating with legal as needed

  • Lead business reviews with agency leadership covering account KPIs, growth initiatives, and premium goal progress

  • Train agents and brokers on underwriting guidelines

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving billing and other operational issues

  • Represent Nirvana at industry conferences, associations, and client meetings

  • Recommend changes to team processes and tactics based on what's working in-market

  • Travel approximately 50% of the time

About you:

  • 8+ years in commercial insurance, with strong preference for commercial auto and/or transportation

  • 8+ years of field sales and/or program marketing experience

  • 2+ years leading a team, with a track record of hiring, coaching, and developing people

  • Comfortable evaluating diverse-scope problems and adapting your approach based on current business conditions

  • Executive presence and strong written/oral communication with customers, peers, and cross-functional partners

  • Track record of exceeding targets

  • Comfortable operating in a high-growth, ambiguous startup environment

  • Existing network among transportation agents/brokers preferred

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and equity

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance

  • 401(k) with company match

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Work from home friendly
