Full job description

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and scale backend services and APIs using Node.js and Python.
  • Develop and optimise PostgreSQL data models, queries, and migrations.
  • Build secure, scalable REST APIs used by web and AI-driven applications.
  • Deploy and manage services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Ensure performance, reliability, security, and observability across services.
  • Collaborate with frontend (React / Next.js ) and AI teams to deliver seamless user experiences.
  • Own code quality through testing, code reviews, and documentation.
  • Translate product requirements into robust technical solutions.
  • Continuously improve architecture, scalability, and system performance.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of backend or full-stack engineering experience.
  • Strong expertise in Node.js and/or Python.
  • Solid experience with PostgreSQL and relational database design.
  • Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
  • Hands-on experience deploying to GCP or other cloud platforms.
  • Strong understanding of backend architecture, security, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills - able to work with product, frontend, and leadership teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving, high-ownership environment.
  • Experience with microservices, Docker, and cloud-native architecture.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud monitoring.
  • Exposure to AI/ML-driven backends or data pipelines.
