UPMC Corporate is seeking a skilled and reliable General Maintenance 2, Multi-Craft Maintenance Tech to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will perform a wide range of preventive and corrective maintenance activities to support the safe and efficient operation of our facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in building maintenance systems, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical equipment, and facility operations. This position requires strong troubleshooting skills, attention to safety and infection control standards, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

This position works 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM on varied days, including every other weekend, supporting facility operations and maintenance needs across the organization. If you enjoy solving problems, maintaining essential infrastructure, and making a direct impact on the environment of care, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance work and tasks as directed with minimal supervision.

  • Perform specific preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment.

  • Exhibit a basic knowledge of electricity, plumbing, carpentry/hardware, mechanical equipment and facilities systems.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, equipment rooms and shop areas.

  • Maintain all written logs pertaining to shift responsibilities, i.e., med gas, equipment room rounds, etc.

  • Maintain water chemistry and testing procedures on equipment and building systems. Operate and maintain a variety of building's direct digital control (DDC) systems. Order materials as needed.

  • Perform all work following infection control procedures. Perform minor carpentry and painting work.

  • Record work orders and submit hours to supervisor on a daily basis. Minor repairs and maintaining of plumbing fixtures, piping systems, plumbing leaks (soldering), defective pipes and clogged drains. Performs general cleaning duties on equipment and in mechanical support areas.

  • Performs required maintenance, repair and inspection of beds.

  • Ability to perform snow removal activities and work in adverse weather conditions.

  • Completion of a high school diploma/GED is required.

  • A total of two (2) years of general maintenance-related work experience is required.

  • Healthcare experience is preferred.

  • Completion of a High School Vocational program or Trade School is preferred.

  • Military experience considered.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Driver's License
