About the Role

H&R Block is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and consumer-obsessed Senior Manager of Brand Strategy & Activation to help shape how our brand comes to life internally and across the customer journey. Reporting to the Director of Brand & Content Strategy, this role will lead the activation of H&R Block's brand strategy, ensuring our brand programs, messaging, campaigns, partnerships, and experiences consistently build brand equity while supporting business objectives.

This individual will collaborate with GTM, Content, Creative, Communications, Media, Product, Lifecycle, Customer Experience, Research, and more—translating brand strategy into integrated programs and measurable business impact. They will oversee a team responsible for brand activations, strategic partnerships, brand governance, and operational excellence while helping evolve how H&R Block shows up as a trusted year-round financial partner.

Day to day, you'll...

  • Champion the evolution and activation of H&R Block's brand strategy, positioning, and platform.

  • Help shape messaging frameworks, strategic narratives, and communication priorities.

  • Establish clear measurement frameworks for brand health and activation performance.

  • Lead development of enterprise brand activations, tentpole programs, partnerships, sponsorships, and cultural moments - connecting paid, earned, and owned efforts.

  • Support development of thought leadership, community programs, and cause-related initiatives.

  • Lead the systems, processes, tools, and governance that enable effective brand management and enterprise consistency.

  • Partner with Internal Communications, HR, and enterprise leaders to embed the H&R Block brand throughout the associate experience, ensuring employees understand our purpose, positioning, and role in delivering the brand promise.

  • Coach, develop, and inspire a high-performing team.

  • Foster a culture of strategic thinking, collaboration, curiosity, and accountability.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations, Advertising, or a related field

  • 7+ years of experience in brand marketing, experiential marketing, partnerships, sponsorships, program management, or related disciplines

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional marketing programs from strategy through execution

  • Strong understanding of brand strategy, customer engagement, and integrated marketing principles

  • Experience managing agencies, vendors, partnerships, and external stakeholders

  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously

  • Experience developing activation plans, managing budgets, and measuring program performance

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization

  • Experience leveraging customer insights and performance data to inform strategy and decision-making

  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience guiding teams, projects, and cross-functional workstreams

  • Experience within financial services, retail, hospitality, or other consumer-focused industries preferred.

  • Experience working within highly regulated industries and navigating legal and compliance requirements preferred

  • Experience leading and developing people

  • Strong analytical mindset with ability to connect insights to action

  • Familiarity with brand tracking, audience segmentation, customer insights, and measurement frameworks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Business Administration

  • Experience in a large matrixed marketing organization

  • Experience with franchised, multi-unit retail, financial services and/or seasonal businesses

Pay Range Information

The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed. Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan. Qualifying associates can enroll themselves and/or their eligible dependents in medical and prescription drug coverage; can participate in the H&R Block Retirement Savings Plan (401(k) Plan), the Employee Assistance Program, (virtual) fitness center programs, and the associate discount program; are automatically enrolled in Business Travel Accident Insurance; and receive Associate Tax Prep benefit.

Pay Range

$101,200.00 - $161,900.00/Yr.
