Full job description

Job Summary

Utilizes imaging equipment to conduct radiological diagnostic procedures as needed during orthopedic cases and pain management injections.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operates computer and radiographic equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body, under the supervision of a Physician. Performs quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images.

  • Prepares patient for radiographic procedures by accurately assessing patients needs and providing patient education.

  • Records appropriate chart notations in Patient Information System and/or Patient file. Prepares and maintains records and files as directed, stores and maintains films according to department policy and procedures.

  • Practices safety measures in radiography and environment of care. Maintains and tests equipment to ensure proper functionality.

  • Attends continuing education courses requested. Attends annual OSHA training programs. Attends all regular staff meetings as required.

  • Monitors exposure doses of staff and assists with care of radiography gowns, supplies and equipment.

  • Maintains Patient confidentiality.

  • Effectively operate radiologic equipment. Ability to evaluate imaging results to ensure appropriate diagnostic information is obtained. Ability to evaluate, synthesize and communicate diagnostic information to the Physician. Ability to communicate effectively with the patient and health care team.

Qualifications

Requirements and Qualifications

  • AAS Radiologic Technology required.

  • AART Registration required.

  • 2-3 years Clinical experience in Orthopedics preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, grasping, carrying, and speaking.

  • Occasional reaching, bending, and stooping.

  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds--with assistance if needed.

  • May need to lift or turn patients who are disabled--with assistance if needed.

  • Frequent use of computer, keyboard, copy and fax machine, and phone.

The pay range for this position is determined based on several factors, including the candidate’s years of experience, qualifications, training, licenses, designations, and the overall market conditions.
