SUPV IT PROGRAM MANAGER (PLCYPLN)

Summary This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the SUPERVISION/MANAGEMENT Work Category at the EXPERT Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA DBC/CYBER DEVELOPMENT DIRECTORATE. Responsibilities Performs the full range of first line supervisory duties. Plans work to be accomplished, sets priorities and schedules work to be completed within the Branch. Assigns work to subordinate employees based on organization priorities. Coordinates, plans, and schedules with other organization managers and customers as appropriate. Incumbent orchestrates the identification and prioritization of significant IT programs and initiatives among DISA's substantial customer population. Prepares related synopses, detailed reports, and/or analyses for use by senior leadership as it relates to IT research, development, integration, and implementation efforts. Develops and promulgates short and long-range DISA information services plans and projects involving the design, development, acquisition, integration, operation, and maintenance of new and modified information systems. Basic Requirements: Attention to Detail - experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been responsible for reviewing the work of others to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards Customer Service - developing and maintaining relationships with customers, anticipating and assessing the current and future information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products or services that are tailored to meet customer needs Oral Communication - briefing senior-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of complex technical information to a non-technical audience Problem Solving - identifying alternatives to address unique, highly complex, or sensitive information technology-related issues. I have anticipated information technology-related problems and have identified and evaluated potential sources of information to generate alternative solutions AND: Qualifying Experience: In addition to meeting the basic requirement, applicants must possess qualifying experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience supervising and decision making; managing and analyzing level recommendations for IT plans and operations; OR leading programs and/or projects; developing, analyzing, evaluating, and identifying problems. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.? It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system. If you are a current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, you will be placed on an Excepted appointment. This appointment does not confer eligibility to be non-competitively converted to an appointment in the competitive service. A three year probationary period may be required if you have not previously completed a probationary period in the excepted or competitive service. This position is subject to completion of 1 year probationary period for assignment to a supervisory position. Accepting this position, you may be required to serve a 3-year probationary period during which we will evaluate your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
