Summary

You will serve as a Technician in the Surface Combatant Radar Division, Sensors Weapons and Launchers Department of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER Port Hueneme Division.

Duties

  • You will serve as AEGIS AN/SPY-1 radar technician.
  • You will provide technical services involved with the execution of work assignments pertaining to significant tasks within complex project-oriented in-service technical support services in U.S. and allied ships and/or shore facilities.
  • You will provide technical/consultative services and training during Installation, and check-out, Integration tests, certifications, or other test/evaluation efforts at shipyards, on board ships, test sites, contractor sites, and/or school commands.
  • You will conduct research and comprehensive design studies into development acquisition and/or in-service technical support for assigned equipment.
  • You will evaluate technical performance up to and including the system level of equipment associated with equipment specifically related to hardware reliability, operation, performance and/or maintainability problems.
  • You will provide evaluation of and solution to fleet problems.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-03 (GS-09/10 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical and engineering services to include the testing and evaluation, coordination, planning, and execution of radar systems, transmitters, signal processors, and combat or weapon systems for a warfare program. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-04 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-11 and GS-12. NT-04 Pay Ranges by Location Port Hueneme, CA $87,061 - $135,657 San Diego, CA $85,307 - $132,923 Norfolk, VA $75,788 - $118,092 Additional vacancies may be filled by this announcement.
