Job Summary

I&E Tech is responsible for supporting the safe, reliable operation of field instrumentation, control systems, communications equipment, and electrical devices at oil and gas facilities. This role performs advanced field work under general supervision, troubleshoots and resolves issues across I&E and SCADA systems, and serves as a technical resource for field operations personnel, contractors, and the SCADA team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation and electrical equipment for the I&E and SCADA systems.

  • Perform configuration, programming, calibration, loop checks, testing, and preventive maintenance on equipment associated with the I&E and SCADA systems.

  • Ensure the reliability, integrity, and usability of electrical, automation, and communications equipment.

  • Ensure equipment and device programming conforms to company standards.

  • Troubleshoot data and connectivity issues at wells and facilities and provide technical support to correct issues.

  • Coordinate I&E contractors on routine activities and maintenance.

  • Assist with project design, project work, and data verification.

  • Test and maintain network and communication systems.

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot radio and/or cellular communication systems.

  • Support the training and development of team members with less experience.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma (or GED).

  • Ability to travel to remote locations and work outside of regular hours.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of related experience.

  • Experience with field operations of electrical and automation systems.

  • Valid Driver's license with an acceptable MVR.

  • An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Housing within 50 miles of the assigned field office.

  • Previous instrumentation and control experience.

  • Previous oil and gas experience.

  • Previous experience supporting field electrical, automation, or SCADA systems.

  • Previous communications systems experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stoop, stand, walk, pull, carry instruments, and climb stairs and ladders for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.

  • Ability to work overhead for extended periods of time.

  • Revised to standard on JD Guide

  • Ability to perform fine manipulations with hands and fingers.

  • Capable of driving distances of 150 miles or more per day during all types of weather conditions.

  • Ability to one-arm carry up to 25lbs. without assistance.

  • Regular bending, crouching, pulling and kneeling to check equipment and gauges.

  • Must be able to exert up to 50lbs. of force occasionally and up to 20lbs. frequently to move or manipulate objects.

  • Ability to work significant amounts of time as required in completing job responsibilities.

  • Working environment includes exposure to extremely loud noises in field, hazardous chemicals, and hydrocarbons that may be under extreme pressure for which appropriate safety measures are required.
