Full job description

Forward Deployed Product Manager - Manufacturing — (On-Site / In-Field) Prove Napster's agents work in the hardest physical places.

Napster

Function: Product Reports To: CPO Location: Anywhere in US, NYC preferred

About Napster Napster offers lifelike AI agents that meet your customers wherever they are, and collaborate with your employees as coworkers. Agents that meet your customers on your website, inside your app, on a kiosk in a hospital lobby or a quick-service counter. And agents that work right next to your people, a real crew for every single employee.

The opportunity Napster's agents are moving onto the factory floor, into real, flagship-scale manufacturing work, and you are the person who turns that into product truth the whole company can build on. You work at the customer, not from a desk, mapping how the work actually happens and converting it into the connectors, data models, and success metrics that make the next manufacturer faster than the last. This is where the company learns what is genuinely repeatable and what is a site-specific requirement, and you are the one who can tell the difference and say so. This is a forward-deployed role for someone who has worked inside industrial environments, maps messy real-world workflows into clear requirements, and can tell a genuine product need from a one-off and say so directly. In this role, you will

  • Own the client-proximate proof loop: the workflow truth, the data access, the connector and data-model requirements, and the success metrics.
  • Distinguish repeatable product needs from site-specific requests, and help the team make disciplined tradeoffs.
  • Build the next-account playbook that makes manufacturing wins repeat.

Your first 90 days You get deep into the real workflows, validate what is repeatable, and separate product from bespoke. By day 90 the test is simple: live proof quality is high, the roadmap is sharper for it, and a repeatable manufacturing playbook exists. How you'll know it's working The quality of live proof delivered. Roadmap clarity drawn from real workflows. A repeatable playbook. Fewer one-off, bespoke asks. Who you'll work with You partner with Sales on the buyer and the close, Customer Success on adoption, Partnership on the channel, and the product and marketing teams who turn your proof into roadmap and assets.

Competencies

  • Workflow Rigor. You map messy industrial workflows into clear data and connector requirements.
  • Product-versus-Bespoke Judgment. You tell a genuine product need from a site-specific request, and you say so.
  • AI-First Operator. You turn each site visit into product with AI: workflow notes become briefs, gap lists, and a growing library of reusable patterns rather than a pile of one-offs.
  • Field Presence. You do your best work at the customer, on the floor, in high-trust settings.
  • Repeatability. You turn a single proof engagement into a playbook the next account inherits.
  • Cross-Functional Pull. You move Sales, Customer Success, and Product without owning them.

Why this is one of the best seats, period Most product roles are one step removed from the work. This one puts you on the floor where the truth is, with the mandate to turn it into something that scales. If that is your kind of hard, this is the seat.
