Full job description

As a Union – Financial Services Associate, you will perform accounts receivable and collections functions for large and complex accounts within a branch or business unit. You will be responsible for customer accounts and accounts receivable portfolios. You will work to achieve cash flow and operating expense goals established by Financial Services leadership, including days sales outstanding (DSO), past-due percentage, and bad debt expense. You will check work and assist manager in scheduling, directing and controlling job assignments.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with customer accounts payable staff to determine payment/invoice discrepancies.

  • Monitor past due invoices and make collections calls.

  • Research and resolve customer inquiries.

  • Work with sales team for dispute resolution and collection of past due customers.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 2 years of collections experience; experience within the commercial construction or electrical contractor industries preferred.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of UCC regulations and lien laws.

  • Understanding of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost control principles, and GAAP.

  • Proficiency with financial and accounting software applications, including HighRadius and Oracle.

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel; experience with VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables preferred.

  • Customer service oriented with a commitment to delivering exceptional support.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively managing priorities and deadlines.

  • Federal and state regulations.
