Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the supervision and direction of the department director, the position provides scheduling support to all areas of the operating room department. The OR Scheduler is expected to adhere to applicable Lewis-Gale Hospital Montgomery policies and procedures and to LewisGale Hospital Montgomery value statements and commitment to excellence standards.

• Schedules cases, runs reports and inputs data on computer with minimal error. Notifies appropriate staff/physicians of any schedule changes.

• Provides daily and monthly reports of statistical data as required.

• Ability to recognize, establish, and deal with priorities promptly.

• Completes correspondences and documents for all responsible areas, takes minutes at departmental meetings.

• Keeps office clean, organized, and without clutter. Assists in ordering office supplies. Assist with Xeroxing and posting advance schedules.

• Assists patients, visitors, other departments, coworkers and physicians as necessary; exhibits excellent customer relations.

• Maintains departmental records, files and charts to meet regulatory standards and hospital policy.

What qualifications you will need:

• Knowledgeable of Meditech, and other computer software, proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook, SMART, etc.

• 1+ year(s) of experience in healthcare preferred

• Availability to work Days
