This downtown Stuart hospital provides top-quality patient care to the communities in and around Martin County on the beautiful St. Lucie River. The caregivers at Martin North Hospital have made it an excellent medical facility and a home away from home.

With a dedicated Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) and Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU), Martin North Hospital is considered the cardiac hub of Cleveland Clinic Martin Health. The CVPCU specifically cares for patients with serious heart and vascular conditions who need close monitoring but aren't critical enough for the ICU. As an RN Resident in the CVPCU, you will work with fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. All the while, you can explore advanced education and professional development courses offered by Cleveland Clinic.

A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00PM – 7:30AM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.

  • Provide direct nursing care, alongside a coach, in accordance with established healthcare organization policies, procedures and protocols.

  • Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care activities based on the following: acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability.

  • Initiate and/or maintain interventions to assure continuity of safe/effective care for patients.

  • Respond to data indicating risk to individual's health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent the risk.

  • Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.

  • Document patient's medical record according to established guidelines.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

  • New graduate or less than one year RN work experience

  • OR experienced RN moving from non-inpatient to an acute direct care clinical inpatient setting with less than one year of current acute direct patient care RN experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

  • Externship experience in the ICU

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.

  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.

  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.

  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
