Job Description

A leading civil engineering and land development firm is seeking a Land Survey Engineering Assistant to join its growing team in San Diego. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in civil engineering, land surveying, or land development. The ideal candidate will work directly with experienced survey professionals and project managers, gaining hands-on exposure to a wide variety of projects while learning industry-specific processes and tools. No prior civil engineering experience is required. The team is looking for a highly organized, professional, and eager-to-learn individual who thrives in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities Provide administrative support to the Land Surveying team and Project Managers Assist with coordination and tracking of multiple land development projects Support survey projects through data organization, documentation, and project administration Assist with ALTA surveys, record surveys, boundary research, and encumbrance analysis Draft plats, legal descriptions, and survey-related documents using AutoCAD and manual drafting techniques Research and locate public records, maps, and property documentation Help maintain quality assurance and quality control standards across project deliverables Perform data entry, reporting, and project-related analysis as needed Support internal project management systems and processes Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project deadlines and client expectations are met Continuously learn new surveying, engineering, and land development concepts

Skills and Requirements

1-2 years of administrative, project support, or office coordination experience OR a recent college graduate Strong interpersonal and communication skills Comfortable interacting with clients, project teams, and executive-level stakeholders Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail Professional demeanor with a strong customer service mindset Highly motivated and eager to learn new skills and technologies Exposure to the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry Basic exposure to AutoCAD or drafting software Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field Exposure to civil engineering, land surveying, construction, or land development projects Experience reviewing maps, plans, property records, or technical documentation
