Generations is a non profit, regional Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that has proudly served eastern Connecticut since 1984. We provide comprehensive primary care, behavioral health, oral health, and case management services, primarily to medically underserved populations. Our nurses are respected clinical partners who practice at the top of their license in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
We are currently seeking a Regional Registered Nurse Lead to join our team at our Willimantic and Norwich locations.

Job Summary : The Regional RN Lead serves as a senior clinical resource and support leader across assigned GFHC sites. This position provides direct patient care and clinical coverage for approximately eighty percent (80%) of scheduled work time and supports nursing practice standardization, onboarding, competency development, quality initiatives, and workflow improvement for approximately twenty percent (20%) of scheduled work time.
The Regional RN Lead functions as an experienced nursing resource who promotes consistency in clinical practice, supports staff development, assists with implementation of nursing initiatives, and helps ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and quality standards. Working under the direction of the Director of Nursing and in collaboration with site leadership, this position helps strengthen communication, coordination, and continuity of nursing services across multiple locations.
Clinical responsibilities include direct patient care, triage, clinical support to clinicians, nursing interventions, patient education, care coordination, and assistance with maintaining efficient daily clinic operations. The Regional RN Lead provides clinical coverage during staffing vacancies, leaves of absence, periods of increased patient volume, and other operational needs as assigned.
Administrative responsibilities include supporting new employee onboarding and preceptorship, assisting with nursing competency validation, conducting workflow observations, supporting quality improvement initiatives, assisting with implementation of clinical policies and procedures, promoting adherence to evidence-based nursing practices, and serving as a resource for nursing staff across all assigned locations. The Regional RN Lead will also support vaccine program oversight and serve as a designated primary or backup Vaccine Coordinator, as assigned. Responsibilities include maintaining current knowledge of immunization schedules, vaccine storage and handling requirements, and applicable state and federal vaccine program requirements; supporting vaccine inventory and compliance activities; participating in vaccine program audits and site reviews; and assisting with implementation of state and organizational vaccine initiatives.

Hourly Rate: $36.75-$40.95/hour (based on applicable experience)

Occasional evenings and one Saturday per month may be required based on operational needs

Qualifications
Qualifications:
-
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Connecticut.
-
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) / Basic Life Support (BLS).
-
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
-
Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in ambulatory care, primary care, community health, or medical office setting preferred.

Strong understanding of outpatient clinical workflows, infection prevention and control practices, laboratory and point-of-care testing procedures, vaccine management, and general regulatory/compliance standards.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and support day-to-day clinical operations across multiple sites.
-
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are required.
-
Ability to prioritize tasks, coordinate clinical initiatives, and support workflow implementation in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Experience with staff onboarding, clinical support, workflow guidance, vaccine inventory coordination, and/or competency assistance preferred.

Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR), standing orders, and outpatient clinical procedures preferred.

Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or community health setting preferred.
