Environmental Field Technician

Job Description

The Field Technician I will support the operation, maintenance, monitoring, and inspection of landfill gas systems. This role provides hands-on field experience and exposure to environmental services, safety procedures, equipment operation, and regulatory compliance activities. The position works under the guidance of experienced field leadership and project personnel and offers significant opportunities for professional growth and advancement.

Qualifications

• 1-3+ years of field services, construction, environmental, industrial, utility, or related experience preferred.
• HAZWOPER 40-Hour certification preferred; willingness to complete required training upon hire.
• Basic proficiency with technology and software including smartphones, tablets, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to pass required physical assessments and meet fieldwork demands.
• Comfortable working in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
• Ability to safely lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
• Ability to perform manual labor including digging, equipment installation, sample collection, inspections, and maintenance activities.
• Comfortable climbing ladders, operating lifts, using power tools, and working with common hand tools.
• Willingness to travel locally throughout the service area as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with operation, maintenance, monitoring, and inspection of environmental systems and equipment.
• Perform field inspections, data collection, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance activities.
• Support environmental compliance and monitoring programs.
• Maintain field documentation and utilize mobile technology for reporting and communication.
• Follow all company safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with project managers and senior field personnel to complete assigned tasks and projects. Landfill gas experience*
