Job Duties

University of Minnesota Physicians seeks a Certified Physician Assistant or Certified Nurse Practitioner to join University of Minnesota Gastroenterology team.

In This Role You WIll:

Provide primarily inpatient GI consult service for patients at the MHealth University of Minnesota Medical Center - East and West Bank campus.

Work closely with academic Gastroenterologists and an experienced group of Advanced Practice Providers to carefor patients with a diverse range of GI disorders.

Support two distinct inpatient consult services (General Gastroenterology and Advanced Endoscopy/Pancreaticobiliary) with occasional support to the Liver Service as needed.

The PA or NP is an experienced member of the health care team who uses advanced practice skills with the supervision/collaboration of licensed physicians to provide comprehensive health care services to patients.

The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner engages in independent decision making about health care needs and provides health care services to adult individuals throughout their life span.

Provide physical and psychological health assessments, patient education and counseling, order and interpret diagnostic procedures, and manage acute and chronic disease conditions ensuring continuity of care for individuals in the communities served.

Your Schedule:

Schedule will be weekday, daytime hours but could include 1 weekend shift per month (with equivalent time off during the work week).

We're Looking for a PA or NP Who Is:

A graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or formal Adult Nurse Practitioner training program.

Eligible or is certified through NCCPA, ANCC or AANP.

Licensed or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice (PAs) or MN APRN license or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through MN Board of Nursing (NP's).

Able to meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.

Minimum of 1 year of experience in gastroenterology or related specialty area in an inpatient hospital setting is preferred.

The full-time salary range is $130,866 - $ 161,954 commensurate with practice experience and may also include incentive compensation or additional specialty-specific compensation components. Salary prorated based on FTE.
