Process Technology Technician

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory work for the characterization of alternative raw materials.

  • Evaluate slurry and raw materials using established PD measurement methods.

  • Support the introduction and development of new measurement methods and laboratory equipment.

  • Ensure compliance with agreed quality standards and development, quality, and production launch processes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Process Technology experts/engineers in the development of new and existing technologies.

  • Acquire technical know-how on the analytical techniques relevant to the characterization of catalysts.

  • Primary task will be physical testing and lab analysis of aqueous based slurry-related to the automotive catalyst industry.

  • Operate and maintain lab equipment per set standard procedures; ensure maintenance of sample log; Troubleshoot minor equipment related issues

  • Assist in equipment calibration and perform tasks with sound laboratory/analytical techniques.

  • Analyze data, generate technically accurate reports and present them to Process Technology experts/engineers.

  • Carry out the initial evaluation of measurement data and analytical results.

  • Perform the initial interpretation of analytical data and recommend improvement actions.

  • Create macros, programs and methods for various characterization techniques; engage in technical exchange meetings and presentations with global site technology labs

  • Perform DOEs and use tools like minitab and excel for execution and interpretation of DOEs.

  • Support development and scale-up activities through "Ready-to-Coat" testing, and additive selection for release improvement along with 8-pack data package generation; perform gage R&R to validate the measurement systems.

  • Collaborate on process development projects and root cause analyses together with Operations, chemists, and catalyst platform engineers.

  • Provide technical backup for colleagues according to the backup matrix.

  • Maintain 5S standards in the lab.

  • Train junior technicians if and as required.

Special Responsibilities

  • Act as the communication interface between Laboratory, Production, and R&D.

  • Ensure prototype quality requirements and support the implementation of harmonized analytical methods between Laboratory and Production.

M inimum Education and Qualification Required for t he P osition

Required

  • Diploma with 3 years of experience and B.E with 1 years of experience.

  • Relevant experience in process engineering, manufacturing technology, catalyst production, materials development, or a related technical area.

  • Strong understanding of catalyst coating, substrate handling, or advanced materials manufacturing.

  • Experience with process scale‑up, statistical process control, and quality systems.

  • Ability to work effectively in both local and global team structures.
