Full job description

Business Development Specialist (Community Outreach & Lead Generation) We are seeking a Business Development Specialist to drive customer acquisition and brand awareness through ground-level community outreach in the Singapore market. Your main focus will be on generating quality leads through street canvassing, door-to-door engagement and on-ground events, while recruiting, training and managing a team of part-time “pullers” to support these efforts.

Job scope

  • Plan and execute ground-level lead generation activities, including street canvassing, flyer distribution and door-to-door knocking within targeted neighborhood areas.
  • Recruit, onboard and manage a team of part-timers, deploying them as “pullers” to distribute flyers, engage residents and generate leads in assigned neighborhoods.
  • Provide proper training to part-timers before deployment, covering outreach techniques, product/service knowledge, communication scripts, and safety and conduct guidelines.
  • Schedule and roster part-timers across outreach locations and shifts, including weekends, to ensure adequate manpower coverage for canvassing, roadshows and events.
  • Represent the company at roadshows, exhibitions and community events, including weekends, to generate leads and build brand awareness on the ground.
  • Prepare and ensure all marketing materials (flyers, banners, signage, promotional items, etc.) are ready and adequately stocked ahead of every outreach activity, roadshow or event.
  • Identify and secure suitable outreach locations (e.g. neighborhood centers, void decks, malls, community events) and liaise with relevant parties or authorities for permissions where required.
  • Track, consolidate and follow up on leads generated from canvassing, door-to-door and event activities; maintain an organized database of prospects.
  • Monitor part-timers’ performance and conduct in the field, providing feedback and coaching to improve lead quality and conversion.
  • Coordinate logistics for outreach activities, including transport, allowances/claims for part-timers, and manpower scheduling.
  • Work closely with internal teams to align outreach messaging with overall marketing and sales strategies, and report on outreach results and lead quality.
  • Perform other ad-hoc business development, community outreach and marketing support duties as assigned.

Job requirements

  • Diploma or above, with at least 1 year of experience in business development, field sales, promotions or community outreach; experience in the education sector is a plus.
  • Prior experience recruiting, training and managing part-time staff or ground teams is highly preferred.
  • Bilingual in Chinese and English preferred
  • Willing and able to work outdoors, including weekends and public holidays, for street canvassing, door-to-door outreach, roadshows and events.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to train, motivate and manage part-timers to perform effectively on the ground.
  • Good planning and organizational skills to coordinate manpower scheduling, logistics and marketing materials across multiple outreach locations.
  • Resourceful, outgoing and comfortable engaging directly with members of the public through street canvassing and door-to-door outreach.
  • Own transport is an advantage, given the need to travel between neighborhood outreach sites and event venues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic CRM or lead-tracking tools.
