Position: Instructional Teaching Assistant (Posting number 2627-3900)

Location: State Road Elementary School

Start Date: August 31, 2026

Requirements: Must have NYS Certification as a Teaching Assistant - Level I, Level II or Level III or have NYS certification as a teacher

We strongly welcome candidates with the following qualifications:

  • A strong understanding of Mathematics

  • Familiarity with NYS Math Standards & Practices

  • Excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative

  • Candidates must have knowledge and understanding of child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning.

  • Excellent classroom management skills

  • Must have a professional repertoire including but not limited to organization, time management, technology skills, and approach

Responsibilities:

  • Support students with math concepts

  • Collaborate with teachers

  • Assess student learning in a variety of ways

  • Provides comprehensive instruction in the NYS Standards aligned Math curriculum

  • Demonstrates a deep and rich knowledge of mathematics in addition to the ability to convey it to the students

  • Maintains accurate and timely student records available for teacher, student or parent reference

Salary: As per current Educational Support Association Agreement (ESA) as well as education and experience
