C.H. Robinson is seeking experienced Infrastructure Manager Engineering on our Application Hosting team to lead a globally distributed Application Hosting team responsible for delivering reliable, secure, scalable, and highly available application hosting platforms.
This role requires a hands-on technical leader who can balance people leadership, operational excellence, and technical expertise. The successful candidate will lead a team responsible for Windows and Linux application hosting environments, IIS platforms, routing technologies, load balancing solutions, and middleware services that support critical enterprise applications.
The ideal candidate is not simply a people manager, but a technical manager capable of leading architectural discussions, troubleshooting complex production issues, serving as an escalation point, and driving engineering excellence across the team.
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management

Lead, coach, and develop a globally distributed team of engineers and platform administrators.

Manage team performance, delivery execution, career development, and employee engagement.
-
Foster a culture of accountability, operational excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Partner with leaders across Infrastructure, Engineering, Security, and Architecture teams.
-
Support vendor relationships and service delivery management.
Application Hosting & Platform Operations
-
Own the operational health, availability, performance, and scalability of enterprise application hosting platforms.
-
Ensure stable and secure hosting environments for mission-critical applications.
-
Lead incident management efforts, including escalation, root cause analysis, and service restoration.
-
Drive platform reliability through automation, standardization, and process improvement.
-
Establish operational standards, controls, and best practices.
-
Manage deployments, platform upgrades, and infrastructure changes.
Technical Leadership
-
Serve as the technical leader and escalation point for the Application Hosting team.
-
Lead technical troubleshooting and complex problem resolution efforts.
-
Facilitate architecture and design discussions related to application hosting platforms.
-
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers.
-
Drive modernization and automation initiatives across hosting environments.
-
Collaborate with engineering teams to improve platform performance, reliability, and supportability.
Platform Ownership
The Application Hosting team is responsible for technologies including:

Windows Server
-
IIS (Internet Information Services)
-
Linux-based application hosting environments
-
F5 Load Balancing
-
Kong Gateway
-
Cloudflare
-
Routing technologies and traffic management solutions
-
Middleware and application hosting services
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
-
5+ years of infrastructure engineering or platform engineering experience.
-
2+ years of people leadership experience leading technical teams.
-
Extensive experience administering and supporting Windows Server environments.
-
Strong experience with IIS administration and application hosting.
-
Experience supporting Linux-based platforms and applications.
-
Experience with routing, traffic management, and load balancing technologies.
-
Demonstrated ability to lead technical troubleshooting and incident response efforts.
-
Experience leading technical discussions, architecture reviews, and platform design decisions.
-
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience with F5 load balancers.
-
Experience with Kong Gateway.
-
Experience with Cloudflare services.
-
Experience supporting middleware or enterprise application hosting platforms.
-
Exposure to Kubernetes or containerized application platforms.
-
Experience with infrastructure automation and operational tooling.
-
Familiarity with ITIL or enterprise service management practices.
-
Experience leading globally distributed teams.
-
Experience managing platform roadmaps, vendor relationships, and operational budgets.

Compensation Range
$119,800.00 - $202,300.00
The base pay range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base pay for this specific location. Your individual base pay within this range is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
