$180000 - $250000

Just to put it up-front: this role requires someone who can easily commute to Waltham, MA 3 days per week.

A fast-growing, technology-focused provider in the small business insurance space is looking to add a Software Engineering Manager to its engineering team. You will be doing hands on engineering work while also guiding a small team of software engineers. The role is a mix of back end software engineering, implementing AI tooling, platform strategy, cloud infrastructure, and developer experience work, and will heavily revolve around improving the internal environment for the organizations development teams. Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of professional backend software engineering experience

  • 2+ years of recent experience managing software engineers while still doing hands-on software engineering

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and Infrastructure as Code methodologies
