Our history dates back to 1905, when we began to produce castings in Elyria, Ohio, for the machine tool, gas engine and other industries. Our Hodge Foundry location began operation in 1876 and built a reputation for quality casting from its Greenville, Pennsylvania location. The two foundries joined to form a single company in 2008, which is today known as Elyria Foundry. We are a fast-paced, technically advanced, customer-focused operation creating high-quality, American-made products and we're looking for individuals who are eager to learn and contribute to the Team!

Position: Quality Welder - 1st shift

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.

  • Cut, shape, clean, and grind CAST IRON metal surfaces using saws, torches, or grinders.

  • Align, clamp, and fit metal components together before welding.

  • Execute welds in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.

  • Inspect completed welds for flaws, accuracy, and structural integrity.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot welding equipment and tools.

  • Document any defective product and report to supervisor.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older, HS Diploma or GED

  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience welding cast iron

  • 1+ year experience in heavy manufacturing environment

  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses and maintenance.

  • Understand materials, methods and tools involved in the construction of a casting preferred

  • Attention to quality requirements is essential

  • Must be able to read, write and follow detailed instructions

  • Welding certificates may be preferred but not required.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Indoor and outdoor climate conditions during all seasons and in varying temperatures.

  • Manual Dexterity and the ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm or two hands to grasp, manipulate or assemble objects.

  • The ability to see details at close range (within few feet of the observer).

Job Type: Full Time. Hourly, non-exempt.
