Summary

The Senate Sergeant at Arms is seeking a Administrative Coordinator. The complete vacancy announcement and application can be found on the United States Senate Career Page at https://sen.gov/1VNZQ. Duties

Coordinates office operations, ensuring smooth daily functioning and timely execution of administrative tasks. Supports project/program administration. Coordinates internal and external communications, including scheduling meetings, handling correspondence, and maintaining accurate records. Assists with event planning, travel arrangements, and office supplies management. Maintains SAA assets; tracks expenses, preparing regular financial reports for management review. Prepares and monitors a variety of sensitive and confidential personnel actions and documentation. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Required Work Experience 2–3 years of administrative experience. Required Special Skills/ Knowledge In keeping with the policy of conflicts of interest, relatives of Sergeant at Arms employees are not eligible to work in the Human Resources Office. Excellent organization. Multitasking skills. Active communication skills. Problem-solving skills. Attention to detail in a professional, structured, and sometimes formal work environment. Knowledge of computers, telephones, office software (such as word processing and spreadsheets), and sometimes specialized HR/financial systems. As part of our hiring process, we may conduct a skills assessment to better understand an applicant’s proficiency in key areas relevant to the role. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office environment within the SAA standard hours of operation. Requires sitting for extended periods, with occasional walking or standing. Lifting light office supplies may be required.

Education

High School Diploma/GED. How You Will Be Evaluated
