Full job description

Overview:

This position is responsible for managing medical records, supporting electronic health records (EHR), processing release of information requests, ensuring HIPAA compliance, and collaborating with clinical and administrative teams to maintain accurate patient health information.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, organize, and maintain electronic and paper medical records.

  • Scan, upload, index, and file patient documents into the EHR system.

  • Process medical records and release of information requests.

  • Verify patient information and ensure documentation accuracy.

  • Identify and resolve record discrepancies, duplicate records, and filing errors.

  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and health information privacy regulations.

  • Support audits, compliance reviews, and quality assurance activities.

  • Generate reports and assist with data collection and record retrieval.

  • Provide support to patients, providers, and staff regarding health information needs.

  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure accurate documentation and continuity of care.

We're looking for candidates with experience in:

  • Medical Records / Health Information Management

  • Healthcare Administration or Patient Access

  • EHR systems (Epic is required)

  • HIPAA and release of information processes

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Sacramento, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.90 - $24.90/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
